What information is collected

When you submit an enquiry through the form, MÓTA collects the following, depending on what you fill in:

  • Company name and contact name
  • Email address and phone number
  • Address of an existing website
  • Industry, current situation, goals, functional requirements and content readiness
  • Budget range and timeframe
  • Any free-text message you write
  • The site language and which page the enquiry came from

MÓTA does not request a kennitala (national ID) in the enquiry form. It is only needed for invoicing, and is requested separately at that point.

Why it is collected

The information is used for one purpose: to answer your enquiry and, if a project follows, to define its scope and price. It is not sold, rented, or used for marketing email.

The legal basis is your consent, given by ticking the box in the form, together with the legitimate interest of MÓTA in responding to business enquiries.

How long it is kept

Enquiries that do not lead to a project are kept for up to 12 months and then deleted. If a project starts, the information is kept for the duration of the engagement and for as long afterwards as accounting law requires.

Who processes the information

MÓTA uses the following service providers. Each has access only to the data necessary for its own function:

  • Supabase the database where enquiries are stored.
  • Resend sends the confirmation email to you and the notification to MÓTA.
  • Vercel hosting for this website.
  • Stripe payment processing, only if you choose to pay a deposit online. MÓTA never has access to card details.

Cookies and analytics

This website does not use advertising cookies. Where analytics are enabled, they are configured to anonymise IP addresses, and the contents of the enquiry form are never sent to any analytics system.

Your rights

You have the right to obtain a copy of the information MÓTA holds about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, and to withdraw your consent. Email the address above and the request will be handled without delay.

If you believe the processing does not comply with the law, you may lodge a complaint with the Icelandic Data Protection Authority (Persónuvernd).
